Aerial ignition: the drones that start fires on purpose
The least-known class is aerial ignition. Drone Amplified's IGNIS II and IGNIS III Mini systems mount on uncrewed aircraft to drop ignition spheres for prescribed burns and tactical firing operations, which the company says lets fire crews manage landscapes and reduce wildfire risk while keeping pilots safely on the ground; its MONTIS line applies the same drop mechanism to avalanche control.
