That reframes the problem. An interceptor that cannot close on its target is not an interceptor, whatever else it does well. Matching propulsion class is the entry condition, and a turbojet airframe launched from a catapult in minutes is a response to that condition rather than a general capability upgrade.
STRATEGIC IMPLICATION
If attack-drone speed continues to rise, the interceptor category splits by propulsion rather than by role. Propeller interceptors remain viable against slower reconnaissance and strike types; jet interceptors become the only option against the fast end. The return-to-launch capability is the detail with the most procurement significance. An interceptor that flies home when the intercept does not happen is not consumed by every sortie, which separates the cost of an attempt from the cost of the airframe.
No unit cost has been published, so the exchange ratio against a Geran or Shahed cannot be calculated from public information. The design intent is legible even where the economics are not.
STRATEGIC IMPLICATION
Reusable interception is the direction of travel for defenders facing sustained mass raids, because expendable interceptors invert the cost exchange in the attacker's favour.
