Drone Intelligence Assessment

Meituan runs drone delivery as infrastructure inside a very large business. Its FY2025 results announcement on the Hong Kong exchange reports revenue of RMB 364.9 billion, up 8.1%, and a loss of RMB 23.4 billion after a RMB 35.8 billion profit in 2024. The drone unit is not broken out in those results.

The operating figures come from the company. By the end of 2025 Meituan had 70 drone routes across Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Dubai and more than 780,000 cumulative orders, up from more than 450,000 at the end of 2024. In May 2026 drone head Mao Yinian said orders per site had risen from about 10 a day to as many as 400 and that cost per order was falling by roughly 40 to 50% a year. The company describes its M-Drone 4L Winch, M-Port 3 hub and M-DaaS 3 control system as in commercial operation and is signing outside service providers.

DI analysis: two international steps mark the export path, a Dubai Civil Aviation Authority BVLOS certificate on 17 December 2024 and the Hong Kong launch on 20 March 2025. For Western delivery operators, Meituan is the volume benchmark to compare against. Its unit economics are not disclosed beyond the company's own percentage claims.
